McDonald’s frontline workers have had enough of the adult Happy Meals that went on sale a week ago Monday in participating restaurants. The meals, which come with a nostalgic toy, is a collaboration with streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market, according to a Fortune report.
Employees are taking to social media to vent frustration with the adult Happy Meals.
“New Adult Happy meals are killing me,” a McDonald’s subreddit poster said.
Another posted their store ran out of adult Happy Meal boxes the first day and ran out of toys on the second. “It’s been … not fun,” the commenter reported.
“Leading up to the launch, we prepped crew with training and resources in anticipation of higher traffic in restaurants,” a McDonald’s USA rep told Fortune. “Our restaurant crew members are the best in the business, and we appreciate everything they’re doing to serve customers during this limited-time promotion.”
McDonald’s has been on the receiving end of chaotic promos over the past few years, including the return of Pokémon Happy meals last year and return of its Szechuan dipping sauce in 2017. The brand’s Halloween Happy Meal pails return on Oct. 18. They last appeared in 2016.
