Fast-growing Star could soon have a set of Golden Arches.
McDonald’s Real Estate LLC purchased 0.93 acres of land at 10474 W. State Street at the corner of State and Taurus Way. TOK Commercial reported the transaction Monday. Arete Investments of Meridian sold the property. Property transfer records show the sale went through last month.
Under McDonalds’ real estate model, the Chicago-based company owns the land for nearly all of its stores in the US, while working with local franchisees to build and operate the restaurants under a franchise agreement.
Locally, Darmody Enterprises is the primary McDonald’s franchisee. It has adjusted its portfolio of stores in recent years, closing stores on Apple St., at the Boise Airport and at Boise Towne Square. It has also expanded, adding new stores in fast-growing areas like S. Ada County on Lake Hazel Rd.
It’s unclear when – or if – McDonald’s will build a store in Star.
The city has seen a significant increase in commercial retail in recent years, with a new Ridley’s Family Market, Albertsons, and more.
