The CEO of the franchise company that bought out Russia’s McDonald’s says he can’t get French fries from his supplier, claiming that producers won’t supply the country with the fries needed to serve with his meals, according to a Reuters’ report.
CEO Oleg Paroev of Vkusno & tochka, the newly renamed company that bought out existing McDonald’s franchises in May after the brand left the country following the attacks on Ukraine, said five to six major fry suppliers in “friendly” and “unfriendly” countries won’t provide French fries to his country.
He added that a shortage in the potato harvest in Russia has made it difficult to produce French fries in his country.
