IRVINE, Calif. — Midas International, RNR Tire Express and Big O Tires earned high marks among franchisors of auto repair/service programs in Entrepreneur magazine’s latest Franchise 500 ranking,
Entrepreneur magazine ranks franchisors using a 150-point scale based on several criteria grouped under five primary categories: costs/fees; support; size and growth; brand strength; and financial strength/stability.
To be eligible for the ranking, a franchisor must have had a minimum of 10 units open and operating as of July 31, 2020, including at least one franchise located in North America, and must be seeking new franchisees in the U.S. or Canada.
Entrepreneur lists 23 companies in the automotive category, which includes automotive tools/equipment; oil-change/preventive maintenance; auto collision repair; auto glass repair/replacement; auto accessories; and car washes in addition to tires/tire service and general automotive repair.
Midas, RNR Tire and Big O Tires were the highest rated firms offering tires and tire service, ranked 111th, 175th and 205th overall. Other firms in the auto repair/service category are Christian Brothers Automotive Corp. (301st), Tuffy Tire & Auto Service (427th) and AAMCO Transmission & Total Car Care (486th).
Midas and Big O Tires are TBC Corp. brands.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change was the highest rated franchisor in the automotive category, at 20th. Others in this category are Jiffy Lube International Inc. (77th), Grease Monkey Franchising L.L.C. (167th) and Take 5 Oil Change (216th).
Those offering tools/equipment are Snap-on Tools (48th), Matco Tools (50th) and Mac Tools (85th).
