FIRESTONE, Colo. — Leeds West Groups (LWG) has acquired a Midas Auto Repair-branded retail auto service facility in Firestone, expanding the company’s network of Midas stores to nine in Colorado and 83 nationwide.
The business acquired was opened in 2014 by Linda Murchison, owner of Tri Town Automotive L.L.C. in Longmont, Colo. It’s not known whether Tri Town Automotive has other assets.
LWG acquired both the franchise and the real estate of the Firestone store, but did not disclose financial details of the deal. Local real-estate records show the property was sold for $2.15 million.
LWG Automotive Division and Chief Operating Officer Derek Wessels will be in charge of the location.
Earlier in November, LWG acquired the real estate of a Big O Tires store in Centennial, Colo., that LWG has operated since 2011. The Greenwood Village-based company now has nine Midas outlets in Colorado and a dozen Big O Tires stores.
These two real-estate deals are LWG’s 42nd and 43rd such transactions LWG Real Estate has closed in the past two years.
The acquisition of the Firestone Midas store expands LWG’s retail holdings to 115 locations nationally, with 1,000+ employees. As such, LWG is considered the 11th largest independent tire retailer and auto repair provider.
