AAPEX announced today that America’s best-known political consultant James “The Ragin’ Cajun” Carville and iconic political strategist Karl Rove will participate in a keynote discussion at this year’s event for the global automotive aftermarket industry.
AAPEX 2022 will take place Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 3, at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.
The keynote discussion, “Differing Opinions Discuss the 2022 Midterms and Beyond,” will be held on Nov. 1. With AAPEX taking place the week before the 2022 midterm elections, the discussion will provide timely insights into what to expect on the road ahead. Carville and Rove will provide their points and counterpoints in a moderated conversation about where to look for trends across the country and the impact of the elections on the United States and the world. In this interactive session, Carville and Rove will take questions from the AAPEX audience about the current state of politics and their projections for the future.
The AAPEX Keynote Session is sponsored by Clarios and is a ticketed event that includes breakfast and runs from 6:30-8:45 a.m., in The Venetian Expo, Palazzo Ballroom.
Carville has a long list of electoral successes demonstrating his knack for steering overlooked campaigns to unexpected landslide victories and for re-making political underdogs into upset winners. His most prominent victory was in 1992, when he helped William Jefferson Clinton win the Presidency. In recent years, Carville has not been a paid political consultant for many domestic politicians or candidates, instead focusing on campaigns in more than 23 countries around the globe stretching from the continents of South America to Europe to Africa and most recently Asia. He also is a best-selling author, actor, producer, talk-show host, speaker and restaurateur. His titles include, “We’re Still Right, They’re Still Wrong: The Democrats’ Case for 2016,” “Love & War: Twenty Years, Three Presidents, Two Daughters and One Louisiana Home” and “It’s The Middle Class, Stupid!”
Rove was the architect of President George W. Bush’s 2000 and 2004 White House victories and previously ran a public affairs firm that handled 75 campaigns for Governor, Senator and Congress in 24 states. Rove served as Senior Advisor to President Bush from 2000-2007 and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2004-2007. At the White House, he oversaw the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison, and Intergovernmental Affairs and was Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, coordinating the White House policy-making process. Rove writes weekly for the Wall Street Journal, appears frequently on the Fox News Channel, and is the author of the New York Times bestseller “Courage and Consequence.” His latest book is “The Triumph of William McKinley.”
Prior to Carville and Rove taking the stage, Paul McCarthy, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), and Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association, will deliver the annual Automotive Aftermarket State of the Industry presentation.
